The Chef

I stopped writing on the blog as it started to get to difficult and timing but I had to start up again to talk about my wonderful husbands cooking. He finally gave into my continual pestering him to make fried chicken. He was nervous as it seemed more of a task than it actually was. I must say I was MORE than impressed with his PERFECT first try. The taste, crispiness, and juiciness was something to rave about. In fact that is the sole reason for writing this up. After having leftover chicken the next day for lunch we managed to take a household vote for dinner plans and decided we should have FRIED CHICKEN again. We all have favorite dinners or dishes that Michael makes and I think this fried chicken may kick his Mexican burritos out of first place. Other favorite foods he makes are bbq chicken, steak, pork chops.. Ryan will tell you lasagna is his favorite meal. Ethan says cube steak, green beans, and rice with a close second on his Mexican food.

All I know is I love the way Michael cooks for us and I appreciate him and enjoy his cookin’

A Vase

•November 30, 2009 • 1 Comment

In a room full of furniture…I am an accessory that doesn’t get moved much. I am cleaned once in a while. I sit and I am still. The dust settles on me once again. I watch life go in and out in slow motion, unlike the life that is moving quickly by me not stopping to see my colors, the new cracks in me, if I have been polished, and if I should be moved to a better place. I would like to be in the light feeling the warmth on my cold ceramic outer shell. Each day goes by and like a new vase throughout the years soon shines less and less and becomes unnoticed.

I miss…

I know there are a lot of people on this earth because of all the buildings and there is a lot of people where we live so there are more people everywhere.

While going through Martinez at night he sees all the refineries all lit up and telling us how amazing it was that Edison invented the light bulb and there were so many lights to be seen. It was beautifully lit up.. great thought..

Asking about the sun and moon Ryan thought the sun was bigger because it was in the middle of the atmosphere and the moon was farther away.. good thought..

Katilin and vintage playing cards

•January 15, 2009 • 1 Comment

I found this lady who was selling vintage playing cards in a variety of everything imaginable from flowers, to people, mini cards, dragons, and animals. I thought they would be fun to get so Katilin could practice her drawing and have a few fun pictures to try to copy and maybe spark some new ideas to draw. I love the seashell one and the little girl feeding the chicks..

A time of sadness has arrived when the Mountain View Mervyn’s closed it’s doors. Many great friends made for life there as well as both Elizabeth and I met and married our husbands who also worked there at the time. At least we didn’t have our weddings at Mervyn’s in which someone actually did there. I will have to come back to this and write more …

So many good and bad memories here..  great management in the first 5 years of me working there.. the worst management ever in the last 6 years of when I worked there.

So far I have heard that Kohl’s or JcPenney’s may replace Mervyn’s but I am hoping for Old Navy :)

New Year’s Eve with Aunt Deanna

•January 14, 2009 • 2 Comments

Aunt Deanna joined us for two days playing games, watching movies, drinking, watching movies, more drinks.. lol.. We had found Ryan’s favorite game of Parcheesi in Lego.. How cool is that?

The perfect picture.. Aunt Deanna had just sent one of Katilin’s guys ‘back’ home to start over and she is comforting Kate while Ryan shares in the ‘sadness’ with his laugh.
